From these beginnings and with the knowledge gained during these years, in 1993 Total Biz Fulfillment began as a business service provider of fulfillment and back-office services. Currently we provide our services for 17 different brands ranging from gifts, toys, games, housewares, and art supplies.
The family tradition continues today. Gary's son, Paul A. Ruddell, worked in the business off and on for many years and officially joined the firm full time in 2004. Paul is now our Vice President of Operations and provides a strong business succession plan for many years to come.
In 2007 Total Biz Fulfillment distributed over $50,000,000 in wholesale value of product for our clients. In October 2007 alone Total Biz Fulfillment shipped out over 1,000,000 units on behalf of our clients!

Our Facilities
The Grantsville campus is our corporate headquarters consists of 126,500 sq. ft. including 9,000 sq. ft. of offices was built in five stages beginning in 1993 and is a steel and masonry shell. This campus consists of all corporate offices and approximately 10,000 sto
rage locations. All office and warehouse space is fire protected with a dry sprinkler system utilizing a municipal water supply. Security is provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week by an independent monitoring service and includes motion detectors as well as entry sensors.
Our second campus located in Mountain Lake Park, MD opened in April of 2008 and is located 25 miles south of our main campus and consists of an additional 60,000 sq. ft. expandable to 240,000 sq. ft. as business demands warrant.
Our locations are strategically located to the Port of Baltimore (2nd largerst Port on the east coast), which provides easy, cost effective, port-to-port shipping from both Asia and European locations. The port is currently running with approximately 35% excess capacity so there are no delays due to the port. Our locations are within one day's common carrier shipping to over 40% of the US population and central to a myriad of different mass merchant's distribution centers.
Our Systems
Total Biz Fulfillment utilizes a state-of-the-art IBM iSeries hardware platform running a fully integrated software platform from Assist Integrated Business Systems along with a robust network of PCs. This data management software is capable of handling substantial growth and is supported in-house by our full-time programming staff. It allows the use of sophisticated operational techniques including the use of radio frequency scanning devices that assist in maintaining order processing accuracy, inventory movements, and overall inventory accuracy. 
Coupling our passionate associates with this technology resulted in a 99.76% shipping accuracy rate for all of 2007. This was on shipping over $50,000,000 in wholesale value of inventory on 120,000 shipments consisting of 8,500,000 individual items. We continue to strive for that overall 100% accuracy rate and in many cases deliver that level of service.
An internet-based reporting system is used to allow manufacturers to have critical information on their brands 24 hours per day, seven days per week. In addition, some of our manufacturers have elected to have selected informaiton migrated directly into their headquarter based computer system.
For those manufacturers who utilize independent sales agencies an internet based Information Access System is available to provide additional details to assist in growing your brand including easy email capabilities. This system is geared toward supporting Sales Management to actively manage the sales organizations.
EDI (Electronic Document Interchange) services are provided in-house for those large merchant accounts that require this type of communications and Total Biz Fulfillment has tremendous experience with our 200 different retailers. This experience not only encompasses EDI but also the myriad of different compliance requirements they demand. Each and every merchant chargeback, excluding advertising allowances, damage allowances, and/or other such marketing and sales allowances, will be contested at no charge and if a mutually agreed upon determination shows TBF was at fault due to any direct action or inaction, TBF will pay the chargeback.

Manufacturers may choose between using our generic toll free line for inbound customer service calls or to utilize their own toll free line. In either case, our telephone capabilities include up to 100 independent lines and include advanced voice mail systems for customer convenience. Our brigade of inbound customer service representatives answer calls with that human touch and take part in continuous training sessions.
